Rage Against the Machine cause panic on BBC radio. →
I mean how naive can you get? The thrust of the song is “Fuck you, I won’t do what you tell me!” and the BBC are all, “I say chaps, would you mind terribly not swearing - thanks awfully”, broadcast them live and then crap themselves when the inevitable happens. ROFL! (Linked audio clip is NSFW)

Are HP computers racist? This guy seems to think they might be. (He appears to have a sense of humour about the whole thing - which is nice. I.M.H.O. it’s probably all about lighting / contrast; but it does look like whoever tested the face recognition software deserves an arse-kicking!)

Liverpool on film - 1896 I found this particularly interesting - all those horses (though some new-fangled electric trams are in evidence). The dock scenes (3:00 ish) are equally fascinating. ‘Sail’ would appear to be very much the ‘order of the day’, but we do see the odd funnel. This is Liverpool ‘on the cusp’, transitioning from horse and wind, to...

Footage of the earliest ‘derby’ game (Everton Vs. Liverpool) recorded on film (1902). Quality isn’t great, but what do you expect! Liverpool lost 3-1 :-( Credit to the British Film Institute for putting stuff like this on-line.

This is very cool (but quite a lot of work). Follow the link and ‘mouse-over’ the picture from side to side. Well done Román Cortés.

Nice ad’ for the game “Plants vs Zombies” in the form of a music video. Could “Get ready to soil your plants!” be possibly the best strap-line ever?

House decorated with computerised Christmas lights - synced to Amazing Grace. So at first I’m thinking, “Yeah, fair enough - but it’s still basically cheesy” then the tempo went up and I have to admit: it kind of rawks! However, this one is better - due, in no small part, to complete absence of techno!

Canadian record labels sued for... stealing... →
This is just sweet! I love some of the comments on this thread - especially the wag (who I suspect could be British or French) who recommends that the accused labels be banned from using the internet. :-D

Skiing.
Many years ago, some friends persuaded me to give this skiing lark a go and so we trotted off to the Italian resort of Courmayeur. One morning I went down for breakfast, a self-service buffet affair. I was the first to arrive, so I gathered myself some grub and found a vacant table where I could sit and study my piste-map while merrily nomming away. I was about half-way through filling my face...

Cool Stuff.
“Bed” - Antony Gormley (1980-81) I’m a bit of an ‘art fan’ and it’s not unusual for me to visit galleries either to see exhibitions I’ve heard about, or just on the ‘off chance’ - to see if anything’s going on. It was on one of these chance visit to Tate Liverpool that I encountered Antony Gormley’s “Bed” sculpture....
